She is passionate about empowering Gambians with the knowledge needed to build a resilient and prosperous future.

Mam Salan Njie
Mam Salan is dedicated to advancing equity in The Gambia through data-driven insights. She focuses on analyzing social and community-based data to uncover patterns, highlight disparities, and guide conversations around harmful cultural norms. Her analytical approach brings clarity to complex issues and supports more informed, impactful solutions.

Satang Semega Janneh
Satang is committed to strengthening governance and ensuring that the rule of law serves all Gambians. She works to raise awareness about legal rights and responsibilities, emphasizing the need for citizens to understand and uphold the law and for institutions to enforce it fairly. Her passion lies in shifting national narratives toward justice, accountability, and long-term development.
Our Story
ROOT began with a shared vision among three friends to create a platform that makes knowledge accessible to every Gambian.
What started as informal discussions about national development evolved into a commitment to provide clear, reliable, and community-oriented information on the issues shaping the country’s future.
We recognized that many of the challenges facing The Gambia, from environmental degradation to harmful social practices, persist not because people are indifferent, but because they often lack accurate and timely information. ROOT was established to help address this gap.
Today, we remain dedicated to educating and supporting Gambians as we work toward a more informed, resilient, and equitable future
